After graduating from the National Kaohsiung Normal University, practical teacher Wang Zheng Zhong is assigned to teach at a primary school which is lacking in educational resources, located at the rural Nantou County. As he is preparing for his leave at the end of his internship, he is met with the Taiwan 921 earthquake. Watching the students crying and asking for his return, the teacher decides to stay at the school to improve the education of the students.
