Synopsis

Based on a true event in 1952. When one of the worst storms hits the East Coast of New England, an oil tanker off the coast of Cape Cod is damaged and ripped in half. Faced with freezing cold temperature and 70-foot high waves, four members of the Coast Guard take a small boat and set out on a mission to rescue more than 30 stranded sailors that are trapped aboard the rapidly-sinking vessel.
