Shunnosuke Katagiri is a samurai, who is also a bookworm, that has been tasked with helping Naonori Matsudaira relocate. The unfortunate Daimyo is nicknamed the vagabond lord as he has been forced to move across Japan from west to east seven times. Knowing that his failure might result in him being ordered to commit ritual suicide, the shy, naïve and inexperienced Shunnosuke turns to Takamura, his childhood friend, and Oran, the beautiful and headstrong daughter of a former magistrate in charge of relocation, for help in concocting various outlandish schemes that he hopes would help with the relocation.
