Synopsis

12-year-old Theo, who plays for a local soccer club, has enough talent to eventually go pro. However, the boy feels powerless when he`s at home as his father, Laurent, has slowly been destroying his own life when he picks up drinking after divorcing Theo`s mother. Theo sees hope to bring Laurent out of the man`s destructive spiral when the boy finds out that he is about the be signed by English Arsenal FC. However, when Theo fails to join the club due to his short stature, he tells his father a white lie, saying that he has been recruited so that his father will not be disappointed and will feel happy and proud instead. While that is the case at first, eventually his lies grow too big to contain.
