Spinning away from the classic live-action Spider-Man mold, Sony's Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (not connected to the MCU) is the first Spider-Man animated film of its kind.
While fans of the web-slinging superhero are all familiar with the oft-depicted Peter Parker, this new iteration brings Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales to the fore and introduces movie audiences to the vast Spider-Verse, an endless cluster of parallel dimensions where there can be more than one Spider-Man.
Backed by popular comic book versions of Spidey such as Spider-Gwen, Spider-Ham and Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse will be the beginning of a whole new Spider-Man franchise.
Now that online reviews are beginning to roll in, let's find out what the critics have to say about one of the biggest releases of the year:
'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' is just awesome. A fantastic script and story made to look like a comic book come to life. If you're a fan of Spider-Man or comic books you are absolutely going to love it. It also has one of the best after the end credits scenes.

Not only is SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE a great Spider-Man movie, but I think it's the BEST Spider-Man movie. A super inventive & visually stunning action-adventure about a kid learning to be a hero from a man who forgot how to be one. It is outstanding!#IntoTheSpiderVerse

Spider-man: Into The Spider-Verse is not only the best animated feature and best comic book movie this year, but one of the best movies of 2018 period. I don’t think another movie does a better job of bringing a comic book to life on the big screen.
