As part of their Spider-Man spinoff universe, Sony Pictures is moving forward with a Morbius the Living Vampire movie, joining Venom and Silver and Black in the upcoming franchise.
Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, writers of Dracula Untold, Gods of Egypt and Power Rangers, have secretly written a script for the movie, though details remain unknown at this time.
A tragically flawed superhero with vampiric abilities, Morbius the Living Vampire originally appeared as a villain, but went on to become more heroic in his own series.

The Crow reboot from director Corin Hardy (The Nun) is finally kicking into gear with Aquaman star Jason Momoa.
This just after Momoa teased the start of production after a protracted development delay with an Instagram photo of himself with Hardy.
For those not familiar with the original 1994 cult classic, The Crow follows Eric Draven, a man who was killed violently by members of a gang. He is soon resurrected by a crow in order to seek vengeance. Of course, the movie was also famous for being the late Brandon Lee's last film after he tragically died due to a filming accident involving a prop gun.

Universal Studios subsidiary Illumination Entertainment, creators of the Despicable Me franchise, Minions and The Secret Life of Pets, has agreed a deal with Nintendo to develop an animated Super Mario movie.
The deal includes a producer role for Mario and Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto, while Nintendo will have a hands-on role creatively.
While the video game movie curse remains a harbinger of worry for many fans, Illumination does have a solid track record, so the Super Mario property would be in very safe hands.

Disney has tapped The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Wonder director Stephen Chbosky to write and direct a live-action Prince Charming movie.
The film is set to explore the prince's background, which has largely been a mystery since his debut in 1950's Cinderella. Additonally, it will tell the story from the perspective of the prince's brother, offering audiences a fresh and unique retelling of an iconic fairy tale.
Prince Charming will be Chbosky's second collaboration with Disney, having previously served as a writer for Beauty and the Beast.

In a new rumour that has been making waves across the Internet, Nightcrawler and Life star Jake Gyllenhaal is now The Batman director Matt Reeves' top pick to take over the role of Batman from Ben Affleck.
With Affleck appearing increasingly noncommittal to the role, even suggesting that it's "something [he's] comtemplating," it seems highly likely that DC will be looking to segue him out sooner rather than later. However, an official decision on the matter has not been made so as not to detract from the launch of Justice League.
Interestingly, Gyllenhaal was a frontrunner to play Batman for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, but ultimately lost out to Christian Bale.
