Her acting alone is enough to make you go and watch the movie. If you don’t know who Judy Garland is, go read up a little beforehand perhaps. Might help you appreciate the movie even more.

The tragic life of Judy Garland. The performance of Renee Zellwegger is truly deserving of an Oscar.

Renee Zellweger is phenomenal in this Judy Garland biopic; her portrayal gave me goosebumps and was impossible to look away from. The story was surprisingly well-balanced, making a case for both the prevalence of gaslighting and manipulation in movie-making in the 1930s and 40s, while not taking any responsibility away from Judy as well.

Ultimately humanistic and effective ending. Renée Zellweger plays the late actress-singer-dancer Judy Garland with poise and elegance.
