Unexpected Profound & Meaningful
The fact that Jojo Rabbit is still showing in cinemas over 2 months after its release date says something about this movie. I recommend everyone and anyone to go watch this film. It's light on the mind and easy to take in, but really says a lot about what brainwashing can do to any person and how human connection and understanding is so important in this world. I'm normally uninterested in satires but this a very unique approach to a war film.
Storytelling that leaves you in a mixture of emotions
Gorgeously shot film with wonderful colours, a comedic and yet uncensored view of the brainwashing of the German youth during Hitler’s reign. Taika Waititi tackles a seemingly impossible topic with amazing sensitivity that makes one unsure whether to laugh or cry.
The film had an amiable way about it that wormed its way into my affections. Waititi's signature left-of-centre jocularity a consistent presence throughout.
