Interesting
Iceman: The Tome Traveler has an interesting time-traveling style. It has a well balanced of action and fantasy genre. Excellent plot and line up of casts.
Honestly, this movie is quite confusing and the ending is quite abrupt, this was filmed 5 years back along with the 1st movie (but was cut into 2 by the studio). The casts member were not even paid for this 2nd film. The film is released now because Donnie (and Baoqiang) have turned very famous. My understanding from insiders is that Donnie tried very hard to fix the film in the past 5 years, he even offered to do reshoots for free. But the Mainland studio refuse to spend a single more cent in hiring the other actors/cameraman back. The studio ignored all pleas and refused to edit the film and just release it suddenly after 5 years, casts like Donnie/Simon/Baoqiang all refuse to trick audiences and refuse to help market the film (see their weibo/facebook, all silent). Give 5 stars for the casts' efforts, but this film is quite confusing with abrupt ending to be very honest - scriptwriter/editing team/director/studio should be ashamed.
Loving the historic theme intermittently woven into the present. The Iceman was an enjoyable movie with very good acting. But Donnie Yen is overshadowed by largely mediocre CGI effects.
Love the movie, but dislike the ending. I hope there is a third one. Overall, i think the show is quite rushed, would have been nice if it is more detailed.
I didn't really like the storyline. The fighting scene could be done better. Quite dragging & boring too. However, I still like watching Donnie Yen's movies.
Despite missing out the first movie, I caught the gist of the main couple’s past from the brief flashbacks in this sequel. Overall a predictable plot, a decent amount of action scenes, some nice visuals of the time travel device in action and a rather forgettable cast.
