Entertaining and funny at all the right moments, this is one feel-good show that gets the whole cinema laughing unanimously at its quirky jokes that do a good teasing job. The movie also carries a sublime message of what it means to be truly pretty regardless of size and shape - a message that any member of the audience can easily relate to. A fun movie to watch to uplift your spirits after a dreary day...
This movie received its own share of hate for portraying the white woman as the lady that got to feel beautiful, while similarly beautiful black actresses barely got any screen time aside from the little time spent as someone that had to step out of work to care for a white woman. Before I learned about this, I’d cried in the theatre multiple times and it was far more of a movie I expected it to be. For what it’s still worth, I would’ve given it 5 stars but upon reconsideration, 4 is ample.
