Synopsis

When Tony Lip (Academy Award nominee Viggo Mortensen), a bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx, is hired to drive Dr. Don Shirley (Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali), a world-class Black pianist, on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South, they must rely on “The Green Book” to guide them to the few establishments that were then safe for African-Americans. Confronted with racism, danger as well as unexpected humanity and humor—they are forced to set aside differences to survive and thrive on the journey of a lifetime.

Great Storyline

Love the script. A story about racism in old America but not in-your-face and terribly violent like many recent American films. Good acting by the cast too. Although I must say I expected more, after I heard it won so many prestigious awards.

Must watch!!!!

The movie drew my attention after bagging home multiple awards at the oscars. I went in with high expectations thinking that I might be disappointed after, but instead I left feeling so touched. It’s such an inspiring, healtfelt, important and feel good movie. A true gem that haven’t made me feel like this in a long time. I like how the characters opened up over time and developed this strong connection and friendship. Stellar performance by the cast. Everyone should watch this! 2 thumbs up!

Humorous and full of contrasts between the higher and upper class, Green Book tells the story of one Italian man's changing attitude towards racism and racial discrimination. You won't regret watching this.

Such a wholesome movie and as expected, Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali did not disappoint! Really raw in showing us just a glimpse of the harsh realities of racism.

Phenomenal music!

Thought-provoking but never preachy. Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali in the main roles are remarkable, and it's funny and endearing to watch them discard stereotypes and discover their mutual humanity. I was captivated. It carries a nice message and celebrates friendship and positive interpersonal qualities.

Feel good movie for racists

Oversimplifies the racism in society and central theme of “wouldn’t it all be better if the racists and their victims could all get along” is so backwards it doesn’t dignify a response. But obviously it’s gonna get all the awards because everyone wants to feel that they’re super not racist so

True story, great acting and world class story telling to reflect the essence of it all. Acting is so good. Much better than The Favourite. Light hearted yet meaningful and inspiring. “Being a genius isn’t enough. It takes courage to make a change.“
