One of the best movies of the year thus far; potential Oscar Contender?
Let me start by saying that I am not a fan of sports drama, automobile/racing movies - saw good reviews of this on RottenTomatoes and CinemaScore so I decided to give it a try. I was blown away; this is honestly one of the best movies of the year. And I am saying this despite watching more than 30+ movies in cinema this year. Thoroughly engaging and great pacing throughout the entire 2.5hours; the racing scenes were incredible (I regretted not catching this in IMAX), the storyline was touching and shed light to an unsung hero’s (Ken Miles) life and Christian Bale once again proves that his acting is the best in the business. The characters of Matt Damon and Christian Bale bounce off perfectly and their chemistry is great. This is definitely Oscar worthy, and will be up for Best Picture. Honestly, it is a movie that sets you thinking about the unjust in life even hours after you have left the cinema; and teaches you the importance of treasuring your loved ones and about enjoying and giving your best in whatever you do. Give this movie a try, and I am confident that you will enjoy it as much as I did. There is a reason why it has 92% on Rotten tomatoes critics score, 99% Audience score and A+ CinemaScore.
Ford v Ferrari is so much more than just a car racing movie. It’s emotional story of friendships, feuds and American history. It’s Matt Damon and Christian Bale's performances that make this an emotional and unforgettable film.
