In early 1980s, a small group of Taiwanese filmmakers reinvented Asian cinema by travelling across Asia, Europe and Latin America and meeting other filmmakers, artistes and critics. Among the notable Taiwanese filmmakers are Hou Hsiao-hsien and Edward Yang. The film shows how the global influence affected the Taiwan New Cinema movement.
