The worst film of the year
There was some chemistry between Ma Sichun and Lin Genxin. Apart from that, the film is just an unwatchable mess. From The Demons Strike Back, to The Thousand Faces of Dunjia, to this The Four Heavenly Kings, Tsui Hark's deterioration is crystal clear and has reached an intolerable extent. He himself ruined his reputation, and should stop making movies instantaneously.
This is the best movie so far in 2018. I love the plot and all of those great and professional actors and actress. Thank you for the director, I am looking forward to next episode already.
The series never fails to disappoint. The fact that Detective Dee excels in both martial arts and intelligence is enough to keep me entertained, not to mention the incredibly interesting storyline. Looking forward to another movie and be sure to stay on after the movie ends as there are quite a few mid-credit scenes.
Have never enjoyed such genre of movies (Chinese + mystical + poor CGI) but Detective Dee is probably my only exception where I truly enjoyed the thrill and mystery that surrounds its stories.
basically both black and white magic/witch crafts were showcased in this movie. amazing scripts! love it and highly recommended to all whom love magical, fantasy, mystery movies.
