THE AFTERMATH is set in postwar Germany in 1946. Rachael Morgan (Keira Knightley) arrives in the ruins of Hamburg in the bitter winter, to be reunited with her husband Lewis (Jason Clarke), a British colonel charged with rebuilding the shattered city. But as they set off for their new home, Rachael is stunned to discover that Lewis has made an unexpected decision: They will be sharing the grand house with its previous owners, a German widower (Alexander Skarsgård) and his troubled daughter. In this charged atmosphere, enmity and grief give way to passion and betrayal.

No the cup of tea for everyone in the movie family

This literary film about the post-World War II story is based on Rhidian Brook's novel of the same name. The background of the story was set in the post-war German shackles of 1946. The beautiful wife Rachael, played by Keira Knightley, was arranged by husband, Lewis to temporarily live in the new home of Hamburg, with the former German homeowner Lubert played by Alexander Skarsgard and his daughter Freda live under one roof , as the husband as British colonel , who was responsible for rebuilding the broken city. Lubert, who lost his wife during World War II, and Rachael, who suffered from the loss of his son, were initially hostile to each other and later, and their hostile positions in the war were gradually replaced by growing emotions. . . Keira Knightley is still as beautiful as ever, but Alexander Skarsgard seems that to be paralyzed. The super slow rhythm combined with the innocent or tearful love, the intense after-war atmosphere, made the whole story seem calmer, and it failed to become the cup of tea for everyone in the movie family!
