Totally relatable movie, featuring an all-Asian cast that’s relatable, with a storyline that keeps you entertained that shines a light about the local culture of Asians that puts family first, above others.
If you have a girlfriend, you must bring her to the theatre. I regarded the movie as the best romance comedy for a while. Although the plot of the movie is simple, the director and script writer do their job seriously. The future of a typical rich Singaporean is being show classes throughout the movie. Not to mention the clash if thinking between new generation America Chinese and and old fashioned Singaporean Chinese. Even if you are not a Chinese, there are many values that we all sure along as an Asian, you will find the Movie truly Lovely and enjoyable.
Finally, we Asians have something proud and to look forward too, after being pigeonholed into smaller and insignificant roles, or stereotyped kungfu / wushu genre.
I like that not all filthy rich Asians in the movie were depicted as obnoxiously snobbish, obscenely debauched or degenerate but that there was something moral and virtuous about some of the characters and at movie's end.
